Parent Helpers

You all know we love and value the time you spend (either yourself or another family member) in our classroom during snack helper days. Showing your children that you value school by taking time from your busy schedules is important. Research has shown that parent involvement in a child's education is a leading indicator of success in school.
Earlier this year, Cam's mom brought her nursing students to teach us a little about washing hands, how our heart works and what are some healthy foods for us to eat.
If there is something related to your job or hobby that you feel would be age appropriate and educational to share with the kids, we would love to discuss the possibilities!

Play is where it's at!

We talk all the time about how we are play based here at SPNS. This is what we have always been about and what we will continue to be about. Play develops the whole child.

Feeling Heard

Many times if we just listen to kids without judgment or explanation, that is all they need. To simply talk and be heard.

Love and Logic

Love and logic is a program we use here at SPNS and we often encourage parents to take advantage of the FREE classes that the school district provides. If you are interested, the next class starts in February. Here is some more information about Love and Logic. Enjoy!

Winter Weather

We are finally seeing some winter weather! Hopefully the temperatures won't drop too low so we can't enjoy playing in the snow. However, if you are stuck inside, here are some fun ideas to keep kids active and having fun!

Busy and involved kids are happy kids. Planning some activities for your kids may keep the fighting to a minimum (we can hope).
